The interior of Sam’s Club always makes me think of the supermarket scene in Italo Calvino’s Marcovaldo and the book’s overarching theme of consumerism. There is an uncanny resemblance between this warehouse store next to my house and the supermarket that’s been living inside of my literary imagination.
